Mental Health: It affects everyone in different ways

Mental health is definitely becoming more and more spoken about in recent years but people who suffer from these disorders may still feel alone and that there isn’t enough support.

I have suffered from mental health issues myself throughout my entire life. I spent part of my life being told I was just nothing more than a “badly behaved child” and just needed discipline. One day this all changed and I was treated differently. I was diagnosed with ADHD and while it wasn’t massively surprising or severe, the way people talked to me and handled it felt a little off. I resorted to trying to control my feelings on my own, which helped to a degree, but when I needed to vent I struggled to do so. I spoke to Verity, who suffers from PTSD, so she could discuss how she felt growing up:
